Peakside Capital Advisors AG and Brickblock Limited have formed a strategic partnership that will merge institutional real estate investment management with the benefits of blockchain technology.The partnership will see Peakside Capital utilise Brickblock’s proprietary software and legal framework for evidencing and databasing a real estate fund on the blockchain, a process more commonly known as tokenisation. Tokenisation allows for capital to be raised from a global investor pool, and for investors from around the world to access investments such as those offered by Peakside Capital, cheaper and more efficiently than what’s possible via current investment structures.
Brickblock’s full smart contract ecosystem – the technology at the heart of the partnership – was successfully audited by blockchain leaders ConsenSys Diligence at the end of September. Peakside Capital is set to be the first institutional real estate fund management firm to employ such technology.
