Revolut, the fast-growing money transfer app that ranks as one of Britain’s brightest fintech companies, has broken even for the first time as it plans international expansion.
The company, which lets its users swap between dozens of currencies at almost no cost and send money back and forth via smartphones, says it hit the milestone in December following a surge in customers. Revolut was founded in 2013 and launched in 2015 as a debit card that allows customers to spend foreign currencies at interbank lending fees, making it significantly cheaper than using traditional bank cards abroad.
