Dutch crypto-currency fanatic has implanted two NFC tags under the skin in his hands to store his digital cash. Martijn Wismeijer, who runs a company called MrBitco.in in his native Amsterdam, had the implants installed during a 'biohacking' session in the basement of the old Prodent Toothpaste factory organized by Permanent Beta. The xNTi injection kit, which retails for $99 on the Dangerous Things website, consists of a fully NFC Type 2 compliant RFID chipset encased in 2 pre-loaded biocompatible glass casings. The tags can scanned by NFC compliant reader/writer devices including USB devices and all NFC capable mobile phones.
